Our Speakers

Karen Copeland - Pilates Instructor

"I am excited to be a part of this Canadian celebration of Pilates, Pilates Fest North. I became a Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor in 2016, although I have been a student for many years. That same year I opened my home studio just outside of Calgary, AB. Health and wellness has been a focus of mine for decades. I also have a passion for running and I believe my Pilates practice kept me injuryfree. Now my love of Pilates has taken a front seat to my running. I never thought I would say that. I am so excited for this event and look forward to making many more connections at Pilates Fest North!!"

Lesley Logan — Pilates Instructor

"I am so excited to teach at Pilates Fest North because I am all about getting together IRL with other Pilates lovers and doing more of what we love-Pilates. When you get out of your routine, go somewhere that's not familiar and allow yourself to meet new people you learn more than another way to do the 100! You learn more about yourself, others and you will create friendships that will last a lifetime. I think it's so important that we connect with other teachers from all over because we can learn more when we are together than when we are apart. AND!! I've never seen Calgary so Pilates Canada I can't wait for you to show me what you got!"

Karen Frischmann - Pilates Instructor

Karen Frischmann is a mentor for Pilates teachers looking for a deeper understanding
of the system and philosophy behind classical Pilates.

In her 24 years of teaching, Karen has worked with a wide range of clients including
Pilates instructors, athletes, circus performers, and students recovering from injury.
Her fascination with the work began with Mari Winsor in 1992. It quickly became such a
passion, she left her career in film and acquired her first certification through a local,
classical program in 1996.

Karen continued her education with first-generation teacher Jay Grimes 20+ years ago.
She attributes her unique understanding of Pilates and deep investigation into the
system and underlying philosophy to Jay’s work. Under his encouragement, she
obtained her second certification at Drago’s gym under Romana Kryzanowska with Sari
Mejia Santos in 2003.

Karen has dedicated the last 10 years to helping Pilates teachers refine their craft and
build their businesses. First, as the co-founder of Vintage Pilates and its graduate
program “The Work” and now through her educational programs at

A true teacher’s teacher, she applies her extensive knowledge of the body, keen eye and sharp attention to detail in creating programs and workshops that nurture and develop teachers around the world.
